INTRODUCTION: – The kind of faith that produces results cannot be created by humans or “worked up”. We must receive it from God Himself because He is both the source and object or focus of true faith. We cannot take credit for what happens as a result of this faith. Sometimes what we believe for may happen immediately; at other times it may not. Yet God gives the faith that our prayers have been heard and that God will respond in His perfect time and way.

LESSON OUTLINES

1) Faith Makes Way For The Omnipotence Of God!

Why should God make all things dependent upon our faith? The pre-eminent reason why God requires faith, is that faith is the only way through which God Himself can have absolute room to work, for faith is that simple attitude by which man ceases from His own works and enters into the work of God. It is the difference between the human and divine, the natural and the supernatural.

The reason therefore why faith is so mighty and indeed omnipotent is that it makes way for the omnipotence of God! Therefore, the two sentences are perfectly parcall – “With God all things are possible” (Mk.10:27) and “All things are possible to them that believeth” (Mk.9:23). The very same power is possessed by God and by him that believeth.

Faith surrendering its own insufficiency links itself with the all-sufficiency of God, and goes forth exclaiming (hil.4:13), while approving heaven echo, echoes back (Mk.9:23).

2) Hindrances To faith

Faith is hindered by the unscriptural way many excuse unbelief and speak of the sin of doubting God. If we would have strong faith, we must see that it is an imperative and sacred obligation that we steadfastly and firmly believe God’s Word, and refuse ever to doubt Him (Heb.3:12).

Faith is hindered by reliance on human wisdom, self-sufficiency, and dependence on other means or resources – except the naked Word of God, is a hindrance to faith. Faith is crippled by sight, sense and our foolish dependence on evidences other than the Word of God. Faith has to do with the Word of God alone and all faith’s reckonings are on the basis of the Word of God.

Fircitly, faith is hindered by what we call “our faith” and our desperate trying to trust the Lord. Where He will, if we will but let Him, breathe into our hearts the power to believe, as well as the power to love, to obey, or to perform any exercise of the new life.

SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION

Faith is the rightly engine of Spiritual power places in our hands by the Omnipotent Love. Shall we, by the help of God, rise to faith utmost possibilities, and shall we from this very hour turn faith, like a heavenly weapon, upon the field of Christian life and conflict, and use it for all to which God has called us in the great conflicts of the age, and for the glory of the Kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ?

The great command of the Lord is “Have faith in God” (Mk.11:22), and the victorious testimony of Paul who proved it to be true is “I live by the faith of the Son of God….” (Gal.2:20)
