God requires Hiis people to keep their promises to Him and to others. God in both the Old Testament and the New Testament impressed it on us the serious nature of any vows and pledges made. God specifically pointed out that insincerity, lying and hypocrisy have n place among His People. \nLESSON OUTLINES\n    1.) The Place of Vows and Pledges in Both Old and New Testament\nEven though god made special provisions for rash Vows of youth (Num. 30:3-5) and vows that affected the relationship between husband and wife or father and daughter (Num. 30:3-15) . yet God expect His people to keep their words (Ps. 155:4b). God put the highest priority on personal integrity (i.e character, honesty, honour, faithfulness) as it relates to keeping our promises and commitments to God and to others. It is better not to makes promises than to make and then break them. God, our father, is a person of His word, and He expects His children to be people of their word. This is true in both Old and New Testaments. Few things give Christianity a bad reputation faster than those who claim to follow Christ but who have been known to lie and break their commitments. Somme examples of how we break vows includes; not paying bills on time, not giving our best efforts at home, school or work or not being honest in our relationships with others. We must follow through on our promises and commitments even when they turn out to be more difficult than we expected.\n\tIn a way, New Testament followers of Christ also fulfill vows in their places of worship. For example, when take part in the Lord’s supper, they basically make a vow to separate themselves from sin and dedicate themselves to God (1 Corinth. 11:20). To go out later and take part in anything that does not please God shows dishonor for God and brings His anger and judgement because it means that the vow was not given with a faithful hear. It is much like lying.\n    2.) Dangers of Not Keeping a Vow and Pledge\nAnyone that cannot keep his word is regarded bot in the sight of God and of Men as unstable and unreliable. God frowns seriously on people who break vows. The fact that the vow or oath you make is between you and another person or within you does not exclude you from God’s wrath and judgement when you do not keep it. It is lying and lying to God can bring severe punishment (e.g Ananias and sapphire in Acts 5:1-11). Vow breaking is a sign of end time (2 Tim. 3:3) which every heaven bound Christian must avoid. Those who break vows will eventually face the wrathful judgement of God (Rom. 1:31-32).\n    3.) Divine Counsels To The Faithful\n    • Pay all your vow to God even old ones, sit down and list them one by one and pay them all (Ps. 65:1;66:13;76:11;116:14,18;Eccl. 5:4;Jer. 44:25;Jonah 2:9).\n    • Keep your vows that you make with yourself or other people God is watching you.\n    • Be careful and don’t be rash with your words henceforth (Judges 11:30-39;Eccl. 5:2;Acts 19:36).\n    • Fathers and Mothers should immediately annul vows made by their children or wives before the second day, if not it shall be binding (Num. 30:3-8).\n    • Keep your vow even if you swear to your own hurt (Ps. 15:4).\nSUMMARY AND CONCLUSION\nGod’s word instruct us not to make foolish vows or promises to God that we cannot keep (Mt. 5:33-37). Instead, we should simply do what we say we are going to do for God and for others.\nQUESTIONS\n    1.) What are the dangers of not keeping vows and pledges?\n    2.)
